Looking for a quick but tasty homecooked meal…?

If your family is anything like ours, you find yourself both pressed for time, and often searching for a quick but tasty meal idea. This week included both of these challenges for me.

Between dance, soccer, and getting out of work late – and compounded by my wife being out of town, I was definitely searching for a good dinner idea this past Friday. It was a perfect time to try a selection of Smithfield Marinated Pork. I stopped into Walmart and found they had a great selection.IMG_2920

As a matter of fact, you can receive seventy five cents ($.75) off ONE (1) Smithfield Marinated Pork product at Walmart while supplies last, using this coupon.

Smithfield Marinated Pork is already marinated and comes in seven different varieties so finding one your family would like is easy. We use a lot of garlic and herbs when we cook, so their Garlic and Herb Pork Loin Filet (also comes as a sirloin) was perfect for us. But since I saw so many choices, I also picked up a Mesquite flavored one as well! Their other flavors include Golden Rotisserie, Portabella Mushroom, Peppercorn and Garlic (also comes as a Sirloin).

Being always on the run sometimes forces us to eat less nutritious meals, so we embrace any chance where we can have a nice, home-cooked, sit-down dinner as a family. The Smithfield Marinated Pork was as easy to cook as anything you could choose and required no real effort. It is:

o   Slow-marinated in delicious seasonings for full flavor

o   Perfectly seasoned and expertly marinated

o   100% fresh pork

o   Perfect for any night – Grilled. Roasted. Sautéed.

o   Marinated for little prep or mess

My kids love mashed potatoes and (some) vegetables, but one likes corn, and the other prefers carrots. I think the fact they will eat them at all is a minor miracle sometimes, so I often opt for some mixed vegetables to make them both happy. While I would prefer to make fresh mashed potatoes, we rarely have the time to peel, boil, and mash them so we frequently settle for instant potatoes – honestly the kids seem to like them better anyway.

Cooking was simply and quick following the guidelines on the packaging. No major steps are needed; I just placed the Smithfield Marinated Pork Filet in a shallow baking dish and baked it at 375 for about 20 minutes per pound.

While the pork filet was baking, I had the girls get cleaned up and help me set the table. By the time I selected and prepared the side dishes, and we were ready to sit down to eat, the pork was done – time to eat!

Getting started on My #FallFixUp

This shop is part of a social shopper marketing insight campaign with Weave Made Media® and Rubbermaid, but all my opinions are my own. #WeaveMade #FallFixUp http://my-disclosur.es/RgFrEH

It happens every year.

The hot summer days start to cool (ever so slowly this year) and my mind turns to reorganizing the garage, cleaning up the yards, and storing the solar lights, hoses, and other extra outdoor items I won’t need when the snow starts to fall.

ROUGHNECK 01

After a quick look outside to see just how much I had to store, I realized I wouldn’t really need that much storage space, but I did want a well-constructed and durable tote.  The Rubbermaid Roughneck 18 gallon storage tote was the perfect answer!

ROUGHNECK 02

When I saw the six 50-75 foot garden hoses and sprinkler heads I have strewn around the front and back yards, I quickly recalled how much of a pain it was to wrap them up and carry them around the house to the garage. Besides getting wet from residual water and dirty from the hose dragging on the ground, the mere weight of lugging them around on my shoulders begged for a better technique.  And then it seemed quite simple – enter the Rubbermaid Roughneck Outdoor 45-gallon trash can.  With wheels and a sturdy handle, I could load all of the hoses up and simply pull them all at once through the yard and to the garage for simple – and dry – winter storage.

With my plan in place, all I needed was a quick trip to my local Home Depot – a.k.a. my favorite get-away! Thanks to Home Depot’s in store low prices and Rubbermaid Roughneck storage totes and outdoor trash cans, my #FallFixUp is going to be much easier this year!

ROUGHNECK 03

The Rubbermaid Roughneck products were easy to find with a good assortment of sizes and plenty of stock. My daughters were enjoying themselves as well and got a little (early) driving practice in too! While I was making my selection, two other guys were grabbing the totes and 32-gallon outdoor trash cans.  I think it is obvious that everyone is starting to think about their fall clean-up and organizing!

Purchases made and ready to head back home and get started!

The girls love helping me and being outside. We picked everything up in no time!

The hoses fit perfectly in the 45 gallon trash can! With everything neatly set into the tote and trash can, it was time to simply wheel them up to the garage.  No more dripping dirty garden hoses around this guy’s shoulders…

Once in the garage, I just placed them right behind my Mom’s 1967 Mercury Cougar (also ready for storage) and near my Rubbermaid FastTrack (Garage Organization System).   Thanks to Rubbermaid and Home Depot, my #FallFixUp has begun with an easy and low-priced solution to storing my outdoor lawn gear.
